Bhubaneswar: The Medical Council of India has given its go ahead for admissions to the new medical colleges of Odisha. It has allowed admissions for the academic year 2019-20 of different batches of the four medical colleges situated at Bolangir, Balasore, Koraput and mayurbhanj.The MCI issued notification regarding this on Friday.
According to the notifications, permission has been renewed for admission to third batch of Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College & Hospital in Mayurbhanj for 100 seats. Likewise, Fakir Mohan Medical College & Hospital in Balasore has been allowed to take 100 students for the second batch. The third batch of Saheed Laxman Naik Medical College & Hospital in Koraput will also take 100 students. Another new Medical College, the Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital in Bolangir is permitted to take 100 students in its second batch.
The MCI has made inspection of the four medical colleges and after satisfied with the infrastructure, the Board of Governors has allowed them to take students for admission.
