Met Predicts Heavy Rainfall In Four Districts Of Odisha On May 10th

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in four districts of Odisha namely Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Jagatsinghpur on the 10th and 11 th o May due to the formation of a cyclone over the Bay of Bengal.

Currently, the low pressure has formed over the south Andaman Sea and adjoining south-east Bay of Bengal which will likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm by May 7-8 evening and move north northwestwards. According to Odisha Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena the cyclonic system brewing in the Andaman Sea and adjoining Bay of Bengal is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm on May 10. The exact movement of the system, its track, intensity and landfall can only be ascertained only on or after the 8th May. There are chances that the four districts of Odisha will also witness winds of up to 90 kilometers gusting up to 110 kilometers on 10th May due to the Cyclonic system.

After turning into a Cyclonic Circulation, it will be named as Ashani.
