Pulwama: One militant was eliminated and two civilians were injured in a gunfoght between security forces and terrorists in the Meej Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. Yesterday, two civilians were injured after terrorists attacked the search party of security forces. Both the civilians have been shifted to hospitals in Srinagar for treatment.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Lalpora area of Pampore in south Kashmir district on Thursday, following information about the presence of terrorists in the area, a police official said. They halted the operation for the night and resumed it Friday morning.
On Thursday night at Awantipora, terrorists fired upon a shopkeeper identified as Mohammad Ayoub Ahanger near Tral bus stand, grievously injuring him. In Pulwama, terrorists fired upon a driver, Mohammad Aslam Wani of Wanpora, Pulwama, leaving him injured.
