Most Wanted Maoist Behind IAS Vineel Krishna’s Abduction Surrenders In Vizag

Visakhapatnam: One of the most wanted Maoists and member of the AOBSZC Jalandhar Reddy alias Krishna has surrendered before the police in Visakhapatnam yesterday. Krishna was the man behind the kidnapping of former Malkanagiri Collector Vineel Krishna. He was carrying ten lakh rupees reward on his head and was responsible for numerous cases of maoist violence in Malkanagiri, Koraput and Visakhapatnam districts. He was also the Secretary of the MKB Division. He surrendered before the Andhra Pradesh DGP Gautam Sawang. According to the DGP, Krishna surrendered due to “disillusionment with the obsolete Maoist ideology”

Krishna was active in the Chitrakonda Swabhiman area and the Andhra-Odisha border areas where he commanded good leadership for the maoists. However, the recent developmental works in those areas added with continuous operations by the Andhara Pradesh and Odisha forces made it difficult for him to continue his actions. The Andhra DGP has announced that, due to his coming into the mainstream, he will be given 20 lakh rupees under the rehabilitation policy of the state. The malkanagiri police on the other hand can bring Krishna on remand as he has been named in a number of cases including that of the abduction of R Vineel Krishna, the then Collector of Malkanagiri.
