Nabarangpur: Prasanta Rout, the former additional sub-collector of Nabarangpur, who was apprehended by the Odisha Vigilance was today sent to jail after completion of the five day remand. He was arrested by the Odisha Vigilance for possessing disproportionate assets worth over Rs 5 crore. The Vigilance sleuths have stumbled upon huge properties belonging to Prasant.
The Vigilance has unearthed two benami plots along with three plots in Bhadrak and Bhubaneswar. Also, deposits of Rs Rs1. 2 crore in six benami accounts have been unearthed. Earlier, the Vigilance sleuths had detected Rs 5. 21 crore worth of disproportionate assets belonging to Prasant during raids which was about 506 percent more than his known sources of income.
