Bhubaneswar: In an unfortunate incident, an African lioness has died in the Nandankanan Zoological Park yesterday due to snake bite. According to zoo authorities, the lioness is suspected to have been bitten by a venomous snake inside its cage.
The lioness died while undergoing treatment. The exact cause of the death can be ascertained only after the post mortem report comes. With this, the number of lions in Nandankanan has reduced to 16.
