Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has condoled the death of veteran Congress leader and former Balasore MP Dr. Kartikeswar Patra, who passed away on Monday night.
Taking to Twitter, the Chief Minister said that he was saddened to learn about the demise of former Balasore MP, former Bhograi MLA and noted author Dr. Kartikeswar Patra.
Naveen also conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.
The veteran leader passed away at the age of 81.
Patra, who was elected to the Odisha assembly thrice in 1971, 1974 and 1980 from Bhograi constituency in Balasore district and to the Lok Sabha from Balasore constituency in 1991, is survived by wife Umarani, a former MLA, three daughters and a son.
