Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has condoled the demise of senior leader and former minister Saharai Oram, who passed away at his residence in Keonjhar district on Friday.
Oram was 90. He was a long associate of Biju Babu and had contributed immensely for the development and welfare of the tribal people.
The Chief Minister conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family prayed for the departed soul.
Oram was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from Champua constituency five times – in 1971 as Utkal Congress candidate, in 1977 as Janata Party candidate, 1980 as Janata-S candidate, 1990 as Janata Dal candidate and in 2000 as an independent candidate.
