Naveen Sanctions Rs. 265 Crore for Mega Facelift of Puri

Bhubaneswar: In yet another move to transforming holy town of Puri into a world class city with site of art infrastructure and amenities, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today sanctioned 5 mega projects to the tune of Rs 265 core.

A decision to this effect was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Naveen Patnaik at Lok Seva Bhavan here in city.

Since lakhs of pilgrims are coming to Puri to have a glimpse of Lord Jagannath from around the world, five mega infrastructure development projects would be launched under ‘Avada scheme’ to provide them a world class state of art amenities, an official released stated.

A multi-storey parking system would be constructed at the old jail premises where  as many as 400 cars can be parked at any time. Similarly 1250 new rooms for shops would be constructed in Jatrika and Municipality market.

In another move, all government offices including Collectors’ office will operate under one roof, so that general people would get relief from moving this office to the office.

Similarly Puri Municipality market would be renovated to a modern multi-storey market complex.
