Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will address the people of Odisha at 4 pm today. This comes just when the state is witnessing a second wave and rise in the number of Covid infections. It is expected that Naveen may announce some stricter steps to curb the rise of infections.
The Chief Minister had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday in which he stressed on the accelerating vaccination and supply of sufficient vaccines to Odisha.
Earlier in the week, the Chief Minister, after reviewing the Covid situation in the state, has ordered the police to undertake ten days special drive on Covid enforcement in the state.
Currently, night curfew has also been imposed in the ten districts bordering Chhattisgarh where the infection numbers are increasing alarmingly.
