Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will today evening review the Covid-19 situation in the state. He will hold discussions with the officials of various departments on the readiness of the state in fighting the pandemic. Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra, Development Commissioner Pradeep Jena, ACS Health R K Sharma and other officials are expected to attend the review meeting and appraise the Chief Minister about the steps taken to rein in the pandemic in the state.
The meeting assumes significance as the daily state Covid figures are rising and the positivity rate in Khordha, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh has touched more than ten percent. Earlier on the 4th of January, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had instructed the officials to take all precautionary measures and ready the health infrastructure within ten days. He has asked officials to keep ready all government and private health infrastructure in the state to the peak level of Second wave witnessed last year.
