Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unveiled the trophy, jersey and mascot for the Special Development Council (SDC) Football Cup 2020 in a special function at Lok Seva Bhawan here on Wednesday.
As many as 10 teams of the nine SDCs are participating in the tournament, which has kicked off from February 14.
More than 6,000 tribal boys and girls have participated in the competition. The final match will be held in Cuttack on March 5.
The mascot of the sporting event is Squirrel.
Notably, the Odisha Government had constituted the SDC in nine districts where tribals comprise about 50% of the total population of the district.
The SDCs were formed with the objectives of preservation and development of tribal art and culture, recognition of indigenous knowledge and development of tribal youths.
