Puri Srimandir to Open for Devotees from 1 AM on New Year

Puri: The pilgrims visiting to Sree Mandir this new year is going to have a amazing experience as the air in the Badadanda or grand road is thick in spiritual and devotional feelings.

The District administration led by collector Balwant Singh through extravagant lighting arrangements, magnificent decorations, soul soothing ambiance and spiritually energising spaciousness etc made for the convenience of all.

A bit of description of the epoch making welcome also accorded to the devotees on the New Year’s Eve.

Meanwhile the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to keep the Srimandir open on the night of December 31.

In order to maintain hassle-free darshan for all, the temple will be opened for the devotees from 1 AM, said an official of SJTA. Meanwhile, the rituals have also been rescheduled.

According to reports, the Pahuda ritual will be completed by 10.30 PM. After completion of the ritual, the doors of the temple will be opened for devotees from 1 AM followed by ‘Mangala Alati’ and ‘Rosahoma’. Later, other rituals like ‘Mailama’, ‘Tadapa lagi’, ‘Abakasha’ will be performed by servitors as per the schedule followed by ‘Surjya Puja’ at 5.45 am, ‘Dwarapala puja’ at 6 am and ‘Besha sesha’ at 6.30 am respectively. Madhyana Dhupa’ will be performed from 11 am till 12.30 pm on January 1, reports said.

Security Arrangement
Meanwhile, 60 platoons of police force and 800 police officers have been deployed to maintain law and order in the pilgrim town. Ashish Kumar Singh, DIG, CR is personally monitoring the overall security arrangement to avoid any unwanted incidents on the New Year.

Notably, it is the first New Year since the massive transformation initiatives are being taken to make the Puri into a World Heritage City and 5T Secretary VK Pandian who is spearheading the transformation process is closely monitoring all the arrangements for the New Year.
