Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer Nikunja Bihari Dhal has been appointed as the Chief Electoral Officer for Odisha.
“The ECI in consultation with the Odisha government designates Nikunja Bihari Dhal as the Chief Electoral Officer of the state with effect from the date he assumes charge and until further orders in place of Sushil Kumar Lohani,” as per an official notification.
“Dhal shall cease to hold and handover forthwith the charge of all or any charges of work under the Government of Odisha, which he may be holding before such assumption of office”, the notification added.
“Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Revenue & Disaster Management Department with additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Odia Language. Literature & Culture Department is allowed to remain in additional charge of Special Relief Commissioner, Odisha”, the General Administration & Public Grievance Department said in another notification.
Sushil Kumar Lohani, Principal Secretary to Government, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department is allowed to remain in additional charge of Principal Secretary to Government, Excise Department, it further said.
Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to Government, Rural Development Department with additional charge of Principal Secretary to Government. Information & Public Relation Department and Commissioner, Commercial Taxes & GST, Cuttack is allowed to remain in additional charge of Principal Secretary to Government, Energy Department.
Gyanaranjan Das, Executive Director, Odisha State Disaster Management Authority, Odisha is allowed to remain in charge of Managing Director, Odisha State Disaster Management Authority, Odisha in addition to his own duties, it added.
