Bhubaneswar: There is no flood threat in the rivers of Budhabalanga and Baitarani, said Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena.
Reviewing the post cyclone Yaas situation, the SRC informed that the water level in Anandpur is flowing above the danger mark due to rain in the upper catchment of Baitarani. The water level will decrease gradually, he added.
There is a risk of medium flood in Baitarani. The Collectors of Keonjhar, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Kendrapara have been alerted to closely monitor the situation in their respective districts, the SRC stated.
The people staying in the low-lying areas are being evacuated to safer places, he added.
