No Further Reduction in School Syllabus, Says Odisha Minister

Bhubaneswar: Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today said that there would no further reduction in the syllabus for the students.

The syllabus has already been slashed by 30 per cent and it will not be reduced further, the Minister said.

He further said that the school authorities have been asked to the follow the government guidelines when the schools will reopen for Class 10 and 12 students on January 8.

Considering the safety of the students, around 25 students will be kept in a section and the number of sections will be increased if there is more number of students, he added.

Earlier, the School and Mass Education Department announced the date of annual matriculation examinations.

The annual High School Certificate (HSC) exams will commence from May 3 and end on May 15.

All the Covid-19 guidelines will be followed during the exams.
The Plus II examination in the State will be conducted between May 15 and June 11.

The schools will reopen in the State from January 8 for Class 10 and 12 students. Classes will be conducted for 100 days, the Department said.
