Bhubaneswar: DMET Rama Raman Mohanty has said that there is no need for much worry because of the Omicron variant of Covid-19. Speaking to media persons, he said 246 samples have been sent for sequencing in the state and the results are awaited. These positive samples have been taken from Burla, Mayurbhanj and other clusters.
He said that “we will come to know if any foreign returnee has been infected with the Omicron variant by Friday when we get the test results”. He also said that there is no need for any fear of the Omicron variant as it has mild symptoms. He said that the vaccination to under 18 years of population is under consideration and if it is undertaken, hundred percent of the population can be vaccinated.
