No Respite From Scorching Heat As Met Predicts Temperature To Further Rise In Next Two Days

Bhubaneswar: There is no respite from the heat wave conditions in the state. Baripada in Mayurbhanj recorded the highest temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius yesterday with 29 cities recording more than 40 degrees.

The Meteorological Department has predicted further rise by two to three degrees in the temperature in the next one or two days. At some places, the temperature could even touch 45 degrees. The heat wave condition will also prevail for another four to five days.

Many places of costal Odisha are recording rise in temperatures. Even the night time temperature has also risen in the coastal places of the state due to incoming of dry air. The IMD has said that the next two days will see maximum rise of another 2 to 3 degrees Celsius at many places of Odisha. Places like Kalahandi, Bolangir, Titlagarh, Nayagarh, Jharsuguda, Anugul, Boudh and Malkangiri are likely to experience 45 degrees Celsius heat. The MeT has also issued Yellow Warning for 19 districts for high temperatures.
