Not Kidnapping: Ganjam Brothers Were Taken Away By Karnataka Police

Berhampur: The alleged sensational kidnapping of two brothers at gun point yesterday night at Puintala Chaka under Ganjam Police Station limits has been solved and it was found that the case is not of kidnapping but they were taken away by a team of Karnataka Police. During preliminary investigation in the issue, the police has found that yesterday night the two brothers were taken into custody by Karanataka Police officials in connection with a past case. They had taken the two persons to Visakhapatnam on the same night and stayed there.

A Ganjam Police team has reached Visakhapatnam where the Karnataka Police officials were present with the two brothers. Both the police teams have gone to the local police station at Visakhapatnam for further paper work. The Karnataka Police had not informed the local police and forcefully took away the brothers, after which the family members had mistaken it as kidnapping and filed a case at Ganjam. The investigation is currently going on under the supervision of SP Jagmohan Meena.

It is worth mentioning here that the two brothers of Punitala village Panchanana Sahu and Krushna Chandra Sahu were forcefully taken away at gun point in late evening yesterday by unidentified men near their shop on National Highway 16. After getting information, the Ganjam police swung into action and a team led by Chatrapur SDPO along with the IICs of Chatrapur, Ganjam and other senior officials went to Andhra Pradesh. They tracked the two brothers in the custory of the Karnataka Police.
