Bhubaneswar: Odisha has recorded over 60% voter turnout till 1 pm in the first phase of the three-tier panchayat elections in the State held on Wednesday.
The State Election Commission (SEC) informed that the polling was held relatively peaceful across the State despite cases of violence reported at a few places.
The cases of poll violence were reported from Jajpur and Puri district.
The elections to 13 Ward Member posts, six Sarpanch posts, three Panchayat Samiti Member posts, and one Zilla Parishad Member post were postponed due to the death of contesting candidates, the SEC added.
