Bhubaneswar: Odisha is a lead performer in COVID-19 management. It has been revealed at high level meeting on public health response to the COVID-19 chaired by Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gouba.
Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, Additional Chief Secretary Health & Family Welfare Pradeepta Kumar Mohapatra and other senior officers joined the video conferencing from Lok Seva Bhawan.
Odisha has been a lead performer in management of the Global pandemic COVID-19. The rate of COVID test per million population in the State is 3029 compared to all India average of 2490, the meeting revealed.
One positive case is detected in Odisha out of around 84 sample tests against the national average of one case per 21 tests.
The case-fatality ratio in Odisha is 0.42%, quite lower compared to the national average of 2.86%.
A total of 1,39, 311 COVID tests have been completed in the State till date. The recovery rate in Odisha is around 49% against all India average of 42%.
In the recent week, the number of daily recovery and discharge from Hospitals and TMCs is more than the positive cases found on the same day, said Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra.
The wave of community participation through PRI and SHGs has been another achievement of Odisha.
TMCs and quarantine centers are being managed at the panchayat level through active participation of the Sarpanch, elected representatives, SHGs, and the people.
Special Secretary Health & Family Welfare Shalini Pandit, COVID-19 OSD to Chief Secretary Vishal Dev, Managing Director OSMCL Yamini Sarangi along with senior officers of the department participated in the VC.
