Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his deep grief over the loss of lives in the fire accident in a COVID Hospital in Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
“Deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the fire accident in a Covid Hospital in Ahmedabad. Wish the bereaved families have courage to overcome the irreparable loss and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured”, the Odisha CM tweeted.

Eight COVID-19 patients died in a huge fire that broke out in the intensive care ward of a private hospital in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad early Thursday morning, according to reports.
As the blaze broke out at Shrey Hospital in Ahmedabad’s Navrangpura area at around 3 AM, eight fire engines and 10 ambulances of the fire department were rushed to the site. Five men and three women – admitted to the ICU ward – died, reports added.
