Bhubaneswar: In view of spike in COVID-19 cases, the Odisha Government has decided to postpone all board examinations conducted by the State Boards.
All schools and hostels will remain closed from Monday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has made this big announcement after reviewing the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the State.
The annual Matric examinations (Class-10) and +2 examinations for the year 2021 have been postponed in view of the rising COVID-19 cases.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Central Government has already cancelled the CBSE Class-10 examinations and postponed the CBSE Class-12 examinations for this year due to the COVID-19 situation.
The decision has been taken in view of the health and safety of students in the current Covid-19 pandemic.
In the first week of June 2021, the state government and the Council for Higher Secondary Education will review the exam and the next decision will be made to give the students the appropriate time.
