Odisha CM Unfurls National Flag at State Level I-Day function, Lays Stress on 5T Mantra for Successful Governance

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unfurled the nation flag at Exhibition Ground at state level Independence Day celebrations.
In his address, the Chief Minister said that people are the supremo in democracy. The government runs for people and by the people.
In order to fulfill the aspirations of the people, his government has adopted the 5T (Transparency, Teamwork, Technology, Time and Transformation) action plan, which will make the administration more accountable and responsive, Naveen said.
The Chief Minister further said that his government will launch the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative based of 5T principle from October 2 on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
In the first phase, the programme will be implemented in all District Headquarter Hospitals and police stations from October 2 onwards. In the next phase from March 5, 2020, this will extended to all departments, Naveen said.
He said, “Our government is to serve the people. The government is functioning due to taxpayers’ money. Thus, we have taken this important decision today”.
The Chief Minister further said that he will directly phone to the people and enquire about the response given by hospitals, police stations and Government offices.
He said that he will also ask seek feedback about citizen-centric services given by senior Government officers of both district and State level.
“If any rural household is still deprived of electricity connection, then you can file an application at the local Panchayat office and you will get electric connection within 48 hours,” the CM assured.
“This year the world is celebrating 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The relevance of Gandhian thoughts and ideologies is felt more prominently today. I have demanded inclusion of Ahimsa in the Preamble of our Constitution. I again reiterate it. This will further glorify our democracy in the world”, the CM said.
Naveen also paid tributes to the freedom fighters for their sacrifices and contribution for which the country achieved freedom from British rule.
He paid tributes to the soldiers of nation on the auspicious occasion.
