Odisha: District Culture Officer under Vigilance Net for Possession of Disproportionate Assets

Dhenkanal: A district culture officer in Odisha has come under vigilance net for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Based on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets by current Dhenkanal District Culture Officer and Ex-District Culture Officer, Chatrapur Shukru Swain, vigilance sleuths conducted simultaneous raids at six different places to detect assets possessed by him and his family members.

Vigilance Berhampur Division raided six places linked with Swain on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge Vigilance, Berhampur. The places include residential triple storied building at Sisupalgarh, Bhubaneswar, Galaxy Computer Centre at Gadamahabir, Sisupalgarh, BBSR,  office chamber and place of stay at Dhenknal,   residential single storied building at Shakti Nagar, Berhampur and Swain’s house at native place Mouza Rastali in Ganjam district.
