Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today asked the Collectors of 10 districts to assess the damage caused by the incessant rainfall and submit reports soon.
As instructed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Collectors of 10 districts, which witnessed heavy rainfall since August 13, have been directed to assess damages caused to crops and properties due to incessant rains and submit the reports to Special Relief Commissioner (SRC).
This has been informed by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy after reviewing the rain situation with the district Collectors through video conferencing.
The districts are Malkangiri, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Bargarh, Subarnapur, Deogarh, Balangir and Boudh.
Malkangiri recorded the highest rainfall of 463.2 mm in the last three days. Some of low-lying areas were submerged, however the situation has improved, the Chief Secretary said.
The district Collectors have been urged to remain vigilant in the wake of IMD warning of another low-pressure system which is likely to form around August 18, he added.
