Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced the hike in insurance amount under Gopabandhu Swasthya Bima Yojana for working journalists to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 2 lakh.
The decision will benefit 8717 working journalists and their families of the State.
It is worth noting that under Swasthya Bima Yojana, the working journalist and his/her family were getting medical benefits up to Rs 2 lakh. Now it has been enhanced to Rs 5 lakh so that the journalists and their family members can get better medical services, as per an official release.
