No Mass Bathing at River Banks and Ghats during Chhat Puja
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has restricted the celebration of Chhat Puja including mass bathing at river banks and ghats in view of COVID-19 situation in the State.
The Office of Special Relief Commissioner has issued an order in this regard.
The Chhat puja is approaching during which usually there is large congregation of people at river banks/ ghats for taking holy bath and performing puja. Such congregation has large potential for spread of COVID-19 infections.
Considering the above, the State Government has decided to prohibit the celebration of Chhat Puja including mass bathing at river banks and ghats.
The Government has urged the people to celebrate the puja at their homes.
