Odisha Govt to Provide Extra Classes for Weak Students This Summer Vacation, Says Minister

Bhubaneswar: In a significant development as part of reforms in the education sector, the Odisha Government has decided to engage teachers across the State to take extra classes of weak students on a rotational basis during the summer vacation.

Speaking to the media, School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Ranjan Das said, “With an aim for better results of class X students in the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination, it has been decided to offer classes to weak students during the summer vacation.”

The summer vacation will kick start from May till mid-June.
When asked about shortage of teachers in the schools, the Minister said that retired teachers have been appointed to take classes in schools which are facing a shortage of teachers.
