Odisha Govt to Rope in AYUSH Docs to Fight COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to engage AYUSH doctors to support its fight against the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19). 

The Health and Family Welfare Department has ordered deployment of AYUSH doctors under Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer (CDM&PHO) in respective districts for combating the spread of the virus.

The District Ayurveda Medical Officers (DAMO)/District Homoeopathic Medical Officers (DHMO) shall work as a wing Officer, AYUSH under the administrative control of CDM & PHO and the entire AMO/HMO work force shall be assigned duties in healthcare institutions /quarantine centres or any appropriate place as decided by CDM& PHO in consultation with the Collector and DAMO/DHMO, according to an order issued by Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Principal Secretary H&FW Department.

The AYUSH personnel will be given the necessary training to contain the disease.
