Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Home Department has issued fire safety guidelines to various departments in order to curb fire mishaps in the State.
According to a notification, the Home Department has asked more than 10 departments to ensure safety measures at educational institutions across the State.
The departments, such as Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department, Women & Child Development (W & CD) Department, Agriculture department, SC & ST Development Department, Housing & Urban Development Department, Higher Education department, have been directed to follow safety guidelines.
The Home Department will take action against the establishments and agencies where necessary safety measures are not met.
As per the notification, inspection will be carried out under the provisions of Odisha Fire Prevention and Fire Safety Rules, 2017.
