Bhubaneswar: The India Metrological Department (IMD) today issued red warning for several districts of Odisha as the low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal coasts will become more marked in the next 24 hours.
Several districts in north coastal and interior and south Odisha experienced light to moderate rain/ thunderstorm in the past 24 hours.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir in the next 24 hours, according to the IMD.
Similarly, heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls at one or two places is very likely to occur over the districts of Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bolangir, Boudh, Bargarh and Angul in the next 48 hours.
