Bhubaneswar: About six Odia labourers trapped in Bengaluru were rescued following the intervention of Odisha-Mo Parivar, the social service wing of the Biju Janata Dal.
The plight of labourers came to the knowledge of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on February 15.
The Odisha-Mo Parivar immediately swung into action to rescue the stranded labourers, who are from Jiraguda village in Nabarangpur district.
The labourers were released from the clutch of a contractor in Bengaluru on the same day.
The Odisha-Mo Parivar made necessary arrangements for the safe return of the labourers.
The labourers reached Balugaon on February 16 by train and boarded a bus from Balugaon to Nabarangpur to reach their native village.
Last Sunday, Odisha-Mo Parivar had rescued around 16 labourers and five children from a brick kiln at Begumpet village in Peddapalli district in Telangana.
