Odisha MP Sasmit Patra Nominated to Be Part of Indian Parliamentary Delegation for IPU Assembly in Serbia

New Delhi: Odisha’s Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sasmit Patra has been nominated to be part of the Indian Parliamentary delegation for the 141st Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Serbia.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu has nominated the Biju Janata Dal MP as a Member of Indian Parliamentary Delegation for the Assembly to be held in Belgrave from October 12 to October 18.

Patra is the only one from BJD and Odisha for this visit, which is the first one of the new Lok Sabha.

The Delegation will be led by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

Established in 1889 as the international organisation of parliaments, the IPU is the focal point for world-wide parliamentary dialogue and works for peace and co-operation among peoples and for the firm establishment of representative democracy.
