Odisha: No Case of Omicron Variant Found in 246 Returnees from “at-risk” Countries

Bhubaneswar: Amid the Omicron threat, no case of this new variant of coronavirus has been found in Odisha so far, informed the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar on Friday.
The samples of 246 returnees from at-risk countries sent for genome sequencing have not found the presence of Omicron variant.

The samples included those of foreign travellers and COVID clusters in Burla and Mayurbhanj.

Earlier, genome sequencing of 141 samples of foreign returnees was conducted. Not a single sample was found to be an Omicron variant, the ILS said.
