Bhubaneswar: Odisha Snow Girl Ranjita Behera has been qualified to participate in the International Ski Races to be held in Austria during March-April 2022, informed the Department of Sports and Youth Services.

Being a non-snowfall State, Odisha extends to put her first step in the arena of Snow and Ice sports of the country. The ‘Snow Girl’ Ranjita Behera made Odisha proud by representing the State in the 2 nd Khelo India National Winter Games, 2021.
Ranjita, who hails from the steel city of Rourkela, was the one amongst the final team members of the first Biju Patnaik Himalayan Expedition-2016 to Mt. Rudugaira organized by Dept. of Sports & YS. She has successfully completed the Method of Instruction courses in Mountaineering & Snow skiing from the reputed training Institutes of India. Apart from this, she has completed the Trip India Leader and Wilderness First Responder courses from the prestigious National Outdoor Leadership School, USA having its training area in Indian Himalayas.
