Bhubaneswar: Taking strong action against the persons involved in forceful collection of puja donations in ensuing festivity season, Odisha police has so far arrested at least 13 persons from different places in the States.
Besides, as many as five cases have also been registered in this connection at various police stations in four districts.
As per sources, at least seven persons were arrested in two separate cases by Chandili police station in Rayagada, Hemagiri police in Sudargarh district has also arrested four persons in a single case, Khandagiri police station in Bhubaneswar held one person in a single case and Kamakhyanagar police station in Dhenkanal district held one person in one case.
Notably, Odisha Police DG B.K Sharma has instructed all SPs to take strong action against persons who are involved in forcible collection of puja donation and creating disturbances in festival season.
