Odisha Police Launches Special Drive against Traffic Rules Violation

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police has started a special drive against violation of traffic rules across the State from Tuesday.

The four-day special drive will be conducted from 9 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm on all the National Highways and State Highways across the State.

Based on the directive issued by Supreme Court Committee regarding road safety, the State Transport Authority (STA) has issued a notification regarding the special drive to curb traffic rules violation.

During the special drive, the police will check on driving without helmet, using mobile phone while driving, driving without fastening seat belt and driving with excess speed.

The vehicles will be seized if the driver of the two-wheeler is found riding without a license. Similarly, the driving license of a driver will be disqualified for three months if s/he is found driving without a helmet.
