Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s eminent sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik won People’s Choice Prize in International Sand Art Championship 2019 at Boston in the USA.
Pattnaik, who represented India at the festival, sculpted a sand art to spread awareness on plastic pollution with a message “Save Our Ocean”.
The Padma Shi awardee artist represented at the 2019 Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival. He had attended the 2013 World Sand Sculpting Championship in Atlanta.
The Odia artist won three gold medals at the North America Solo Sand Sculpting Competition in 2010.
He had also won the jury prize gold medal at the Xth World Sand Sculptures Championship in Moscow, Russia in 2017.
