New Delhi: Odisha’s star sprinter Dutee Chand has featured in the list of most powerful Indians 2019 by a leading magazine.
The national record holder runner has been ranked 47th in the India Today’s list of most powerful Indians for her outstanding performance at 2018 Asian Games and 2019 World Unversiade.
“India’s first openly ‘gay’ sportsperson, Dutee Chand won two silver medals at the 2018 Asian Games. She also won gold at the 2019 World Unversiade. With the gold, Dutee Chand became the second Indian sprinter ever to do so at a global event,” India Today mentioned.
This year’s list of most powerful Indians has 27 businessmen and women, up from 22 last year. The list is topped by the world’s 13th richest man – Mukesh Ambani, who has a net worth of $50 billion (Rs 3.45 lakh crore), the magazine wrote.
Kumar Mangalam Birla has been ranked second in the list of most powerful Indians. Others on the list include: Gautam Adani, Uday Kotak, Anand Mahindra, Ratan Tata, Virat Kohli, K Chandrashekharan, Amitabh Bachchan and Shiv Nadar.
