Odisha STF Nabs Interstate Drug Peddler from UP

Bhubaneswar: A joint team of STF and Koraput district Police arrested an interstate drug peddler with the help of Uttar Pradesh police in Agwar Khas village under Etmadpur police limits in Agra of UP.

The interstate drug peddler has been identified as Shivnath Singh.

He was wanted in a NDPS case in Machhakund police station jurisdiction of Malkangiri district.

The STF had made a seizure of around 810 kilograms of cannabis on 7 August 2021. Two accused persons arrested then in this connection had revealed that it was Singh who was operation the drug racket from UP, according to reports.

The arrested accused was one of the masterminds in a case as well as a noted inter-state drug trafficker (Ganja). He was absconding since occurrence of the case.

After collecting sufficient information, raid was conducted and finally the above absconding was apprehended.

Soon after his arrest he was produced before the Hon’ble court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Agra (UP) for transit remand and five days transit remand has been granted in order to produce before the trying court i.e. Addl. Dist and Sessions Judge-cum-Spl. Judge, Koraput, reports added.
