Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved the proposal for amendment of Odisha Medical & Health Services (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Rules, 2020 to attract doctors available in other states outside Odisha.
As per the proposed amendment, if a candidate has not passed Middle School Examination in Odia as a language subject, shall be allowed to pass the examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Odisha within Four years of joining in the service and (ii) If, a candidate outside the State of Odisha has not registered his name under the Odisha Council of Medical Registration established under section 3 of the Odisha Medical Registration Act, 1961, he shall get himself registered before issue of the appointment order.
With this, eligible doctors available in other states outside Odisha can join under OMHS cadre.
Earlier, the eligible doctors available in other states outside Odisha, were not entitled for OMHS Cadre posts through the recruitment by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).
