Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police DG Abhay along with other top official are visiting Motu in Malkangiri district to review the Covid-19 situation and Left Wing Extremism. The officials are also scheduled to visit Sunabeda and Nabarangpur later during the day. R K Sharma, Director Intelligence, Praveen Kumar, IG Personnel, and other senior officials will visit the maoist affected areas in the bordering areas. In Motu DGP Abhay will inspect the check post on at the Motu River. The visiting team will also go to the BSF Company Operating Base at MV-88 village in Malkangiri and interact with the Jawans.
The state government is actively pursuing developmental activities in the LWE areas and ramping up infrastructure in the difficult terrains. Security forces have also increased their presence in the area because of which maoist incidents have come down in the Swabhiman areas and the Andhra-Odisha Border regions.
