Bhubaneswar: More than 22 lakh motor vehicles in Odisha are over 15 years old, told Commerce & Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera to the Assembly today.
The Minister said that 22, 09,573 vehicles are older than 15 years, out of which 11, 43,026 vehicles are plying on roads after enforcement of new Motor Vehicles Act in the State.
As per provisions of the Act, issuing of a directive for banning the use of motor vehicles aged above 15 years comes under the purview of the Central government, the Minister stated.
