Berhampur/Gopalpur: Gopalpur Assembly constituency is one of the strategically important Assembly segments in Ganjam district. The political atmosphere in the constituency has been charged up with the recent developments. The ruling Biju Janata Dal, which has built its strong fortress in Gopalpur Assembly constituency under leadership of Chief Minister and party President Naveen Patnaik, has sent a strong message that the fortress remains the strongest as ever for the party through the Jan Sampark Padayatra, which has received an unprecedented support from the people of the constituency.
The Biju Janata Dal’s Jan Sampark Padayatra, which was launched by BJD President Naveen Patnaik on Sunday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, has witnessed an overwhelming response on its first day in Gopalpur Assembly Constituency.
The month-long mass contact programme started from Randha Panchayat in Rangeilunda block with an aim to reach every household in the constituency to apprise people about the transformative initiatives and welfare programmes of the Chief Minister Naveen-led BJD government in Odisha.
Led by OSD to Chief Minister, Dr. Gopabandhu Dash, thousands of enthusiastic members of Biju Janata Dal, Biju Yuva Janata Dal, Biju Chhatra Janata Dal and Biju Mahila Janata Dal, members of other frontal organizations of the BJD and people from all walks of life joined the massive rally, which was taken out from famous the Panchama temple.
The Padayatra covered several villages in the Rangeilunda block with the participation of party workers and leaders from all GPs and urban areas in Gopalpur constituency.
Addressing a public meeting held near Shiv Temple in Randha village, Dr. Gopabandhu Dash called upon the BJD members to join hands with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to build a new Odisha.
Under the leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Biju Janata Dal works for the betterment of the state, he said. The BJD has always given utmost priority towards protecting the interests of the people of the State. So, the party enjoys unwavering support and trust of the people, Dr. Dash said.
He also urged the BJD workers to reach out to the people at the grassroots level and solve their problems and inform them about the development works being carried out by the government under the dynamic leadership of Naveen Patnaik. The meeting was coordinated by Randha Sarapanch Ajit Roul.

With the overwhelming response to the Jan Sampark Padayatra, soft-spoken Dr. Gopabandhu Dash, who is known for his humbleness and down-to-earth manner, has not only shown his political acumen in keeping a strong bond within the BJD fraternity in the Gopalpur constituency, but also silenced the opposition, stated the political observers under the condition of anonymity.
