Parliamentary Panel Lauds Odisha Govt’s Mo Sarkar Initiative, Recommends Other States to Follow

New Delhi: A parliamentary panel has lauded the Odisha Government’s Mo Sarkar initiative and urged the other States to develop similar programs for better governance.

In its recent report, the Parliamentary Committee on Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has praised the Mo Sarkar initiative, which aims to ensure transparency in governance based on feedback of the common people.

The Parliamentary Panel has recommended other States to develop a similar feedback mechanism to bring the government services, especially the police service closer to the people.

The Mo Sarkar, an innovative governance initiative launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has caught the imagination of all including policy makers and the general public.

The programme aims at developing a mindset among the public servants that treats the general public with dignity, and is ready to provide service with absolute professionalism.

The initiative demands accountability of highest order from the public servants.

Currently, “Mo Sarkar” program includes 222 services in 28 Government departments and regular feedback is being collected from the people by the government.
