Plasma Therapy Starts in Malkangiri District

Malkangiri: With convalescent plasma therapy producing encouraging results in the Odisha’s fight against Coronavirus, Malkangiri district has started this therapy for the treatment of serious COVID-19 patients.

Three critical patients were administered plasma brought from the newly opened plasma bank at the Saheed Laxman Naik Medical College and Hospital in Koraput, according to the Malkangiri district admin.
Due to the high success rate of plasma treatment, the Odisha Government has been ramping up plasma therapy facilities in the State.

Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated the State’s sixth Plasma Bank at the Saheed Laxman Naik Medical College and Hospital in Koraput.

The five other plasma facilities include SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur, VSS Medical College, Burla and Ispat General Hospital, Rourkela.
