Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has removed police officer Bikram Keshari Jena’s name for Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
Jena, Inspector of Police, Khordha, was nominated for the prestigious award along with 10 other cops.
However, the Khordha cop was denied the award as he was served a notice by Special Task Force (STF) in connection with an illegal stone quarrying case, sources said.
As many as 38 officers were conferred with the Police Medals on the occasion of Independence Day today at Jaydev Bhawan for their outstanding services this year.
Of them, ten cops got award the medal for Meritorious Service.
