Bhubaneswar: Odisha Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari will today present the State Budget for the financial year 2020-21 in the Assembly.
Amidst the economic slowdown being witnessed in the country, the state Budget is expected to be of around 1.5 lakh crore, the highest ever. Last year the FM had presented a Budget of 1.39 lakh crore rupees.
The focus for this year’s budget is expected to be on the agriculture and farmer empowerment sector and the state government may allocate a good amount for infra development.
The ongoing flagship schemes such as KALIA can see more allocations than last year.
The government is also expected to give higher allocation for the preservation of heritage sites and development of tourism sector in the state.
