Puri Admin Lifts Ban on Cremation of Deceased outside at Swargadwar as COVID-19 Situation Improves

Puri: The Puri administration has decided to lift the restrictions on observance of the last funeral rites of the deceased from other districts at Swargadwar from today.

The people from outside the district can now perform last rites at the Swargadwar while adhering to the COVID-19 guidelines, the administration said.

The decision has been taken in view of improvement in COVID-19 situation in the district following the drop in active cases.

The total number of active cases dropped to 657 as on October 19 compared to 1418 active cases by the end of September. The COVID recovery rate has improved to 93.79, as per the data shared by the Puri admin.
